What Are Chinos?

The term "chino" originated from the Spanish language, referring to a type of sturdy cotton fabric used in military uniforms in both the UK and the US. The pants made from this fabric were called "khakis" due to the standard tan color they were dyed to in the UK. While the modern chinos may come in various colors, tan, black, blue, and olive drab remain the most common choices.
